Tottenham are favorites in this match. They were in chaotic situation following Conte's departure, Sturaro was unable to make an impact, but now look much better under Ryan Mason. He has the key players available, like Kane, Son, Richarlison, Kulusevski.. .

However, this is a bet against Brentford. They have been rocked by the suspension of Ivan Toney. He is the club leading scorer with 20 goals, plus 4 assists. Toney has been banned from football for 8 months, until January 2024, plus £50, 000 for 232 breaches of the FA's betting rules. The 27-year-old can return to training with Brentford four months before it ends on 17 September.

Tottenham are closer to the victory. It is true they have some missing players (Bentancur, Lloris and Sessegnon remain out injured), but Brentford's handicap is much bigger. The Bees are also without Lewis-Potter, Jansson, Norgaard and Strakosha, but Toney's absence make a difference.

Somebody may argue that Brentford beat West Ham without Toney last weekend, but don't forget two things: first, the Hammers are 6 points from the drop zone with 2 matches left. Second, they were focused on Conference League semi-final with AZ Alkmaar. The match with Brentford was sandwiched between two games in Europe.
