K2 - Football - South Korea - K League 2
The ninth season for the Leopards in K League 2, Seoul E-Land has tried to get to the top flight but has not been able to do it. A new coach in the form of Park Choong-kyun, an experienced man in K League as assistant coach to Choi Kang-hee at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, tha returns to South Korea after stints in China and Vietnam.
A complete overhaul saw several departures and arrivals with the aim to strengthen the team. Among them, Vietnamese forward Nguyễn Văn Toàn and Brazilian duo Renan and Ronan David Jeronimo.
Seoul E-Land has shown they can compete in K League 2, but has lack the consistency and regularity to get to the promotion spots, something they want to change. A solid start is not enough, they have to keep their momentum going.
Chungbuk Cheongju FC is the other debutant to make the jump from semi-professional to professional football after having their K League 2 application approved. A complete rebrand of the club, including badge and emblem.
The natural pre-season business of the transition from a semi professional to a professional side has deliver a high number of departures and arrivals. Among the arrivals, Brazilian Paulinho catches the eye, experienced players of K League and K League 2 and youth players from high school and university teams.
The key aspect is how Chungbuk Cheongju FC builds it cohesion and rapport between them and perform to get positive result. At least in paper they appear to assamble the right quality of players to be competitive, how it translates to the pitch will determine if they can do it.
Another season with Seoul E-Land having a strong team with important objetives in mind, a newcomer coach will have time to adapt the team to their style of play, key to this a winning start and against a new team looking to gets its footing, the stronger Seoul E-Land should get it done.
