CL - Football - Europe - CL - Champions League
Last week Liverpool beat Ajax in Amsterdam and secured the second place in Group A. However, the domestic results are poor. The Reds suffered two painful defeats from two relegation candidates Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. Klopp is still missing Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota due to injury. On the other side, Napoli are in excellent form, both in the Champions League and Serie A. So far they managed to win all five group matches in Europe, scoring 20 goals in the process. That is four goals more than any other team in the competition. Most of the players are ready, only Salvatore Sirigu and Amir Rrahmani are out injured.
I think Liverpool could win this match. Klopp and his players are under big pressure, they must deliver a victory. At the same time, a narrow defeat would be no disaster for Napoli given the situation on the table. The Italian outfit will finish first if not lose the match with more than three goals. Spalletti could rest some of his key players ahead of the Saturday's derby with Atalanta. For example, Victor Osimhen has just recovered from injury and two matches in three days are too much for him. Matteo Politano is one yellow card away from suspension and could not be risked, while some other players are tired.
As conclusion, Liverpool are closer to the victory.
