Pick: Manchester City to lift the trophy

Premier League champions Manchester City will face the FA Cup winners Liverpool in this year's FA Community Shield. The match will be played at King Power Stadium in Leicester. Recent clashes between these two sides were efficient, a total of 20 goals are scored in their last 5 meetings. I think this will be an efficient match too, however I also think Manchester City will lift the trophy.

Both sides have strengthened in the transfer window, with Manchester City adding Norwegian striker Erling Haaland to their roster, while Liverpool brought Darwin Nunez. According to me, Haaland is much better striker. So, that's the first reason for my pick.

Next, Liverpool showed lot of weaknesses in the preparation period. The Reds have suffered two defeats in four friendly matches. One of these two defeats was very painful, they lost 4:0 to Manchester United. I am well aware this was friendly game and the result is not important, but losing 4:0 to arch-rivals is definitely painful.

Finally, Klopp will be missing the first and second-choice goalkeepers Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher due to injuries. This is a huge handicap.
