KL - Football - South Korea - K-League
Jeju Island will witness an brilliant round eight game between hosts Jeju United and unbeaten top of league visitors Ulsan Hyundai. A clash at the top of K League standings.
After the 0-3 opener home defeat against Pohang Steelers Jeju United has accumulated six games without a defeat, three victories and three scoreless ties. Reaching the third position, just behind Incheon United and tonight's rival Ulsan Hyundai. A win here would consolidate their place in the top three.
The main aspect Jeju United has shown is solid defending, one goal allowed in six games speaks volumes of the priority for the Islanders. In front goals have come from non-regular players like, newcomer to South Korea football, Swedish Jonathan Ring and newcomer to Jeju United, Kim Ju-Kong with two goals each.
Ulsan Hyundai saw their streak of five consecutive victories stopped when they could not go beyond the tie against Incheon United, yet strech their unbeaten run to seven. Ulsan Hyundai dominate the ball possession with 64% and had the best scoring chances, but it was just not the day for Leonardo, who saw their streak of three games scoring stopped, and it was up to Won-Sang Eom to score for Ulsan Hyundai, but Incheon United was able to level the score to get a tie.
The previous five encounters between them in the Island have yield points for Ulsan Hyundai, two ties and three victories provide a good precedent for the Tigers. Ulsan Hyundai has scored in everyone of them, with Jeju United doing it in four of them.
Due to the positive moment of both teams a close encounter is expected, two of the best defences in the league, but as seen in Ulsan Hyundai previous game against Incheon United, the other best defense, goals appear when Ulsan Hyundai, the best attack is involved. And also the precedent between them would point towards that. Still the best option is for The Ulsan Hyundai to continue getting points here, will dominate the gameplay and even more if Leonardo gets to scoring again.
