D1 - Football - Mexico - Expansion League
Cancun FC
three losses from four matches has Cancun FC almost in the last place, the 2-0 win against Celaya has prevented that. The issue with Cancun FC is their defense is allowing goals and their attack is struggling to produce goals.
The glimmer of hope is Daniel Delgadillo with two goals in four matches, but if the defense continues to allow goals and he does not get help in the attack, wins will not come.
In top of that the lack of positive results have them in the last place in the coefficient table and in case of remaining there should pay a fine a the end of season.
Atlante
The current champion remains winless in this start of season. An opener defeat against Venados was followed by three consecutive draws against Tlaxcala, Celaya and Tapatio.
Striker Rolando Gonzalez has scored two goals in those three matches to aid Atlante to avoid defeat, but he needs help from Ramiro Costa and Armando Escobar. Their defense has not allowed more than one goal, but needs improvement if the goal production continues as it is.
Match
From four matches between them Atlante has three wins, all of the at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, and one win for Cancun at Estadio Olimpico Andres Quintana Roo. The home side tends to get full points.
Prediction
Despite winless, Atlante arrives with a better dynamic than that of Cancun FC.
Atlante better defense is the defining element to provide them the edge in this match. Cancun are pressure due to the coefficient table position and that will play into Atlante benefit as the pressure is clearly on the home side.
