Necaxa
A tense week for Necaxa. After the 0-2 loss at home against Leon, in which Necaxa could scored but was rules offside by VAR, coach Sosa was fired and coach Jose Guadalupe Cruz was appointed.
After one match in helm, Necaxa was able to return to scoring goals, as Alejandro Zendejas scored his first goal for Necaxa to take the lead at Alfonso Lastras. But in the second half, Atletico San Luis was able to score twice and defeat Necaxa. Therefore Necaxa reaches three matches without winning, but only the first under the new coach.
Now back at Victoria Stadium, Necaxa should look to improve in defense, but they have five matches allowing goal, and in the last three and average of at least 2 goals per match against.
Chivas Guadalajara
Irregular in the tournament, Chivas Guadalajara has divided their results equally, three wins, three draws and three losses. Yet they have been able to get an streak going of three matches without losing, two draws at home, against Pachuca and Queretaro. With an away win against Tigres U. A. N. L. at Volcan.
Coach Vucetich is working in improving the team and some improvement there has been but not yet up to what Chivas Guadalajara is. It might take time but if they continue to avoid losses, they will have the time to do it. Chivas Guadalajara has the offensive players to score plenty as seen against Tigres, but sometimes they struggle to score more than once as seen against Queretaro and even went scoreless against Pachuca.
Midfielder "Chofis" Lopez did not travel to Aguascalientes for this match due to
illnes, still due to different reasons, he has only played 66 minutes in five matches.
Match
This match is worth six points, due to match not being played last season due to the postponemet, only for the performance table, which was used to determinate relegation, but is now only used for fines to the last places. In the previous four matches between them at Victoria Stadium in Aguascalientes, Chivas Guadalajara has not lost, two wins and two draws. With three of those matches having at least a goal from each team.
Prediction
Necaxa needs to show better results, and more when a new coach has arrived. Necaxa return to scoring in last match and normally does it home, VAR allowing it. Meanwhile Chivas Guadalajara has the scoring potential, but is being irregular at away, but when they open the scoring, they score more than once. But Chivas normally perform well here. Together with Necaxa defense is not performing as needed. Therefore, the value relays on both teams to score option, both teams have three of five last games with goals from both teams and the precedent points also towards it. And Necaxa will give all to at least draw, as two defeats with a new coach at helm will not be acceptable, meanwhile Chivas Guadalajara will take advantage of the open spaces.
