Anderlecht – Beveren

This match in the Belgian Semi final cup can be very nice one to look at. Both team who want to play football and score goals instead of playing with the whole team before their own goals once they are in front. Both teams also have the technique to do so, Beveren with all the players from Ivory Coast is probably the best team in Belgium if you look at the technique and Anderlecht will be second in that ranking.
Their position in the Belgium League: Anderlecht doing very well in 1st place and Beveren has 8th position which isn’t too bad at all for them.

If you look at the home team ranking, Anderlecht is in third place (with 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss), only one point behind Club Brugge and Moeskroen. Beveren in away ranking is in 5th position.

The form: both teams are struggling a bit lately. Anderlecht has lost two weeks ago from Brugge and this weekend they managed to change a 0-2 at the end of the 1st period into a 3-2 victory, but it was a close one (penalty in 89th minute). In their last 6 matches, they have won 13 points.
Beveren isn’t doing extremely well either. Last weekend they played a 0-0 against GBA, who, it must be said, played very well by giving no room to the Beveren players and thus they couldn’t use their technique. Anderlecht however will probably not play this way, so a 0-0 is more than highly doubtfull. Last six matches, Beveren won twice, lost twice and played two draws, so they have 8 out of 18.

Anderlecht is almost sure of the title in the Belgian League, so this is they will try to win the cup as well, as it is the only real challenge left for them this year. For Beveren on the other hand, it also is a unique opportunity to play in Uefacup next year and give their players a very good experience.

In the line-ups, there might be some surprises, due to injuries. At Anderlecht, young defender Kompany is injured and won’t play, his place will be taken by lovré. GK Zitka is also still injured, but Peersman is a good replacement.

Beveren has no important injuries so far.

Beveren will probably be very eager to win as pay-back for the competition match they had lost against Anderlecht after being 2-0 up in front.
